The LifeStraw Sup

DID YOU KNOW?

Microplastics are found in the air, drinking water, food and consumer products. According to a recent study conducted for the World Wildlife Fund by the University of Newcastle in Australia, the average human is consuming the equivalent of 5 grams of plastic every week, which is approximately the equivalent of a credit card. Scientists have been studying health effects of microplastics on humans, but there’s much that is unknown and uncertain. Some of the things we can do to protect ourselves and the environment include minimizing our use of single-use plastics, and reducing our ingestion of microplastics by using an effective water filter. https://www.hydroviv.com/blogs/water-smarts/95-us-tap-water-contains-microplastics?srsltid=AfmBOorO3Pe0NggjVmT8QPqb2-nnRSlQfd0OD_-C1Rci79vPhCHwdBG4

The more I read about microplastics in our US water supply, the more I see the need to have a portable water filter. But it's not just tap water - that bottled water you think is ok to drink? It's shedding microplastics into your body with every sip.

Prepping isn't just about future needs, it's about taking care of our bodies & families now too. Most of the carbon filters out there do not reduce microplastics, so it was important to me (Dawn) to find one that does. I also wanted something portable.

I personally use the LifeStraw Sip (if I can't bring my own filtered water) because:

  1. Even though it's larger than your average straw, for a water filter, it's pretty sleek and doesn't draw a huge amount of attention in public;

  2. I feel more comfortable drinking water from other sources because I know it's safer for my body;

  3. Making even a small change towards being healthier makes me feel like I've made a big step in honoring the body the Lord gave me.

The one thing to be aware of is that it does take more effort to drink from than a regular straw. You are pulling the water through a filter, not just a hole, so keep that in mind.

I highly recommend checking the LifeStraw Sip out. They make great Birthday & Christmas gifts (early shopping helps the budget too! 😍)

Let me know if you in comments if you have any questions!

Blessings,

Dawn
